More recently, Melanie has specialised in tertiary education commercialisation, working with both not-for-profits and commercial enterprises to establish strategic partnerships that drive university research impact.

She has served as an elected municipal councillor and has held board positions in private companies. Her governance experience includes roles as Deputy Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee for a statutory waste management board and a municipal council, as well as a board member of a multi-sport community facility.

Melanie’s academic foundation blends creativity with financial discipline. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Art History, alongside a Master of Commerce in Accounting and Law for professional accounting accreditation.

Beyond her professional career, she is a passionate fine art pastel painter and exhibits her work from time to time.
